It is carried out by cleaning and treating the hides with tanning agents (vegetable, mineral, or synthetic) that stabilize the protein fibers. Finally, they are finished with coloring, greasing, and polishing to achieve the desired appearance and characteristics.

Tamponato is a traditional leather finishing technique performed by hand using a wool or cotton pad. Several coats of natural dyes and waxes are applied, blending and polishing the surface to enhance the grain and give depth of color. This process makes each piece of leather unique, with elegant and unrepeatable effects.
